How's Every Little Thing?

Hey there kids. So far it's been a fairly eventful week. Last Sunday night I drove out to Champaign. Motorola needed me to go to the Champaign office for a few days for a project. It was kinda cool, acctualy. I got to hang out with a bunch of people I haven't seen all summer. There was no cable and no internet in my apartment so it would have been really dull without friends there. I did rent Sixteen Candles because I was in the mood for a good 80's comedy. My train of thought for picking the movie went somthing like this

1) Walking through the video store w/ Oingo Boingo in my head
2) See Weird Science on the shelf
3) Somehow think of some hilarious thing the Donger said in Sixteen Candles
4) Walk out of the place w/ a John Hues movie, still singing Oingo Boingo to myself

Oh, and Kim bought me Tai food. That was great.

I was back in Cary by Tuesday night so that we could have band practice last night. This was the most ill fated band practice I think I have ever been involved with. Mills broke a tube in his amp and we had to replace two tubes and a fuse, Bryan broke a stick (in the last pair he had with him) and I broke two guitar strings (thick ones!).

The broken tubes took us on a trip to Dr. Woods. There the clerk who was helping us thought she recognized me and our band name. It turns out she was a big Captain Supreme fan and had heard about Davenport through Captain Supreme's fairwell news post. That kind of made my day to know that there were people out there that really liked our band and acctualy knew who we were. Also, it's cool that my old band can help my new band. Aparently she also does some promoting and would like to work with us, so it's a good thing Mills broke a tube.

After a bunch of running around, eating Doritos, and honking at young girls we finaly got all our gear repaired and ready to rock for our show tonight (in Chicago, at the Beat Kitchen, we go on at 6:00, $7, 21+ show, davenport-rock.com for the details, you know the drill).

Anyways, we're leaving work early today because we have a show tonght, wish us much rocking.
